Winding down

AHHH, the last day of work for a while. 10 days off sounds like a good start.....

Taking time out for oneself is not the worst thing in the world to do. Helps to reset the internal clock. Helps to come back more focused....to be a better worker....a more compassionate spouse....a more patient parent. Our lives all change when we get married and/or have children, and it's important that we still take a little time for ourselves every now and again. That's exactly what I'm intending to do.

Off to the island...... with stories to tell when I return.... Buy now, b/c Bacardi's stock is about to rise.....

Five Years --- A Key West Style Tribute

Tonight marks my five year wedding anniversary. This in itself is a pretty monumental occasion in this day and age. I sat down with Gina tonight and watched pretty much all of our wedding video, which was prepared and filmed (mostly) by Ed "LOG" Pines. What a trip. Ten days of the best days of my life. I realize now that friends in that video are still friends of mine today, and I love and miss them all. From my best man, Harold "Hap" Ford, to my wedding attendants, Pat and Murph, Andi and Tina, to the rest of our crazy friends, parents, relatives, etc. It was the best time I think I ever had on a trip.

As I prepare to embark on yet another Key West journey, I want all of you to know that you will all be there in spirit. I wish....I TRULY wish that we could all reunite for this trip like we said we would 5 years ago. I understand it's not feasible for some of you. But just know that your spirit will be there with me. And I'll make sure I drink at least several for each and every one of you.

Please know that you all have made a permanent mark in my life's memories, and I will cherish the moment forever....
